TASTY ZESTY ORANGE-GINGER CRANBERRY SAUCE

If you know me, you know I never mind recipe shortcuts, and have no problem with subbing canned cranberry sauce to make your holiday meals low-stress.

A few surprising additions take this Thanksgiving staple from underappreciated side-dish to one of the stars of the holiday meal.

ZESTY ORANGE-GINGER CRANBERRY SAUCE

INGREDIENTS

– Sugar – Squeezed orange juice – Water – Ground cinnamon  – Ground ginger  – Cloves – Allspice –Fesh cranberries – Zest of 1 orange

STEP 1

In a medium saucepan, bring sugar, orange juice, water, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and allspice to a boil. Cook, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

STEP 2

Add the cranberries and cook until they begin to pop frequently

STEP 3

Reduce heat to low and stir in the orange zest. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to thicken.
