Do your kids love sour snacks? Mine love them… but the sugary gummy ones aren’t the best for you. Have you seen Sun-Maid® Sour Raisin Snacks yet? They are a great snack option for those that love sour treats! Not only are they gluten-free, non-GMO, and free from added sugar and synthetic colors, but they are also nutritious and made with whole fruits! Of course, that’s what I’d expect from a brand like Sun-Maid, so I was thrilled to see both the Watermelon and Strawberry Sour Raisins flavors right there with the other Sun-Maid raisins at my local Walmart when shopping for snacks.
My kids love both flavors of Sun-Maid® Sour Raisin Snacks – both the Watermelon and Strawberry are just the right amounts of tangy and sweet – and I am all about the fact that they are whole fruit snacks that provide the right kind of fuel to keep my active boys going. Truly kid-craved, mom-approved!
While the boys love eating them on their own (and honestly, my husband and I do, too), I thought Sun-Maid® Sour Raisins would be a great addition to a trail mix. Since they have that sour kick, no ordinary trail mix would do! I decided to keep rolling with the sour and sweet notes of the raisins and came up with this Sour and Sweet Trail Mix. Here’s how to make it! It’s super easy, super satisfying, and will keep you fueled between meals or when out hiking.
