Here's how to make Grilled Shrimp with Garlic & Crushed Herbs:

Ingredients:
• 2 pounds raw large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 2 tablespoons McCormick Grill Mates Garlic & Crushed Herbs Seasoning
• Lime wedges, optional

Instructions:
• Soak bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes, then dry on paper towels. Heat an outdoor grill on 375°F.
• In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with McCormick Grill Mates Garlic & Crushed Herbs. Thread the shrimp onto the prepared skewers.
• Cook the shrimp on the grill for 3 minutes on one side, then carefully flip them with tongs. Cook on the other side until pink and opaque (approximately 2-3 more minutes).
• If desired, serve with lime wedges.

#AD: She believed she could, so she did... but did she get paid what she deserved? And would she know if she didn't?

We know most women – particularly women of color – are paid less for their work on average, but the conversation is deeper than that. I'm working with @DisruptAging to raise this conversation. When it comes to women’s perceptions of equity, money, and valuing our work, what are the conversations we have or don’t have? What are we willing to settle for? And what are we signaling to our kids, coworkers, and ourselves by not having these conversations?

While I’ve been working on this since I left my corporate job to work for myself 3 years ago, I still struggle with asking for what I'm worth, or even seeking counsel from others on the topic. It's so ingrained that I won't get the job if I ask for too much, and that there's some sort of taboo in talking about it. About a month ago my husband caught me talking my own rates down. I was asked to bid for a job and was working myself through the bid. I started higher, considering the amount of work involved, my subject matter expertise, and the specialized, custom work. Then I started making excuses for why shouldn't charge as much for the different components, while considering that I might not get the job if the overall bid was too high. My husband stopped me right in my tracks and asked why I was talking my own rates down. It struck me that he would have done the opposite - starting at the value of the work, then asking for more to account for unknowns and negotiation. He also reminded me that outside contractors would charge a lot more. Had he not stopped me, this habit might not change. And what about my female colleagues, who are also operating in siloes... how would they know if they are asking for fair pay if we don't talk about it?

It’s time to normalize talking about how we communicate our individual worth not only to find solidarity with other women in the workforce, but also to help change how society will value our work.
