As you know, we’ve been adding more vegan, plant-based, and gluten-free foods to our diet for sustainability and health reasons. It’s a lot easier now since I don’t have to go to specialty stores to get these kinds of foods, because I have tons of options available at great Walmart prices when I’m doing my weekly shopping! Today I’m sharing a recent haul of some great frozen products found at Walmart. Want to shop the products featured in my haul? Check out your Walmart’s freezer section for great plant-based, gluten-free and low-carb options from Marie Callender’s, Gardein, So Delicious®, Amy’s Kitchen, Good Food Made Simple, and more. You’ll find everything from breakfasts, to entrees, to side dishes, to desserts for a number of dietary needs… again, all at the great prices you’d expect from Walmart.
Our family loves Good Food Made Simple French Toast for breakfast. Not only are they full of antioxidants, they are vegetarian and made with real oats and ancient grains (40g of whole grains per serving, in fact!). I’m also a big fan of their entrees, like their certified gluten-free Cauliflower Kung Pao, which is super quick and convenient to make (great for busy weekdays). The veggies are non-GMO, and the meal itself is high in protein while low in sodium.
Fun fact: I worked at Marie Callender’s in high school and college and met my husband while working there! Because of this, I will always have a soft spot for the brand and find myself craving their famous pot pies on the regular. I was so happy to hear that they have with a meatless version now! The Marie Callender’s Plant-Based Chick’n Pot Pie, is made with Gardein Plant-Based Chick’n, along with their signature flaky, scratch-made crust and savory vegetable filling. This satisfies my pot pie craving, and is a perfect meal solution for vegetarians, flexitarians, or anyone that needs a yummy comfort food. Click here to add it to your Walmart shopping cart.
Walmart carries a great variety of gluten-free foods from Amy’s Kitchen, too. When you are in need of comfort food, reach for Amy’s Mac & 3 Cheese with Cauliflower Bowl. It is scratch-made with real ingredients (including real cheese, gluten-free pasta, and organic cauliflower), but will only take you minutes to prepare yourself. Amy’s Cheese Veggie Crust Pizza is another good one. This brand-new product is made with an organic cauliflower, broccoli, and sweet potato crust. Not only is it great for those on celiac-friendly diets, it is also a great way to get picky eaters to eat their veggies.
For dessert, I am so happy to have discovered So Delicious® Dairy-Free Frozen Dessert Bars. They are so creamy and indulgent you’d never guess they were plant-based. So Delicious® Dairy Free Frozen Dessert Bars are vegan, and a part of the B-Corp™ community, meaning it has high standards of social and environmental performance. This makes me feel even better about choosing So Delicious® when shopping at Walmart! These Non-GMO Project Certified and Certified Vegan. They have a few flavors, but my favorite is the Dipped Salted Caramel bar, which is made with cashew milk. Click here to add it to your Walmart shopping cart. They truly live up to their name, as they are SO delicious!
