Does anything give the holiday spirit quite like watching classic Christmas movies? There are several favorites my family watches every year, and at the top of our list is always Home Alone. Today I’m sharing easy Home Alone party ideas so you can start your own watch party tradition! Home Alone Party Ideas: Pre-Movie Dinner
While you’re gearing up for your Home Alone movie night, first you’ll want to serve some yummy Home Alone party food! Here are some ideas themed around the movie that we had on our menu.
First, this “highly nutritious microwavable macaroni and cheese dinner,” which is actually an easy and delicious pressure cooker mac and cheese that’s almost as easy as the microwave stuff (seriously!).
And would it be a Home Alone party if you don’t serve “a lovely cheese pizza (just for me)?” We baked ready-made personal-size cheese pizzas for our Home Alone themed food spread.
As an homage to Buzz’s pet spider, make these spider dogs (a simple twist on pigs in a blanket) for a kid-friendly movie watch treat.
You can’t forget the drinks! Serve your family’s (or Fuller’s) favorite soft drinks (just be sure to go easy on it).
Home Alone Themed Food for Movie Watching
For movie time, you’ve gotta have popcorn! Serve your popcorn in clean, empty paint cans from the hardware store (just don’t whack anyone in the head with it) to make this fun and easy Home Alone themed food idea. You can use ready-made versions from the store, pop your own in the microwave, or make a homemade air popped recipe (I’ve got some simple popcorn seasoning recipes here and here if you’re looking for inspiration).
Mimic the movie’s firecrackers with some red licorice candy vines. Optional: Serve them in a small pan or bucket, and keep the change, ya filthy animal.
Desserts for a Home Alone Movie Night
You guys give up, or ya thirsty for more?
For the last of my Home Alone movie night ideas, we’ve got something sweet. Since you’re “eating junk and watching rubbish,” serve up a big bowl of ice cream or have an ice cream sundae bar (ideal for a Home Alone themed Christmas party). Include a few different flavors of ice cream, chocolate syrup, maraschino cherries, sprinkles, and mini marshmallows to match Kevin’s sundae masterpiece from the film.
What else would you include for Home Alone themed party ideas? Let me know in the comments, and don’t forget to watch or stream Home Alone and all your holiday favorites on DIRECTV!
