Academic life is challenging to the extent that it can leave even the best overwhelmed. There’s constant pressure from many sides – exams, homework, writing essays, sports, extracurriculars including music, theater, arts, etc. To be a winner, you need to stand out in everything. Whether it has been assigned to you by your teachers or you have taken it up yourself, you have to utilize your brain fully to achieve the best in that.

To succeed in all aspects of your academic life, your brain power is your best ally. You might be exercising a lot to be physically fit. But what you might be missing is taking steps to boost brain power. Seeing this, let’s focus on how you can have a healthier and stronger brain with the help of brain-boosting foods.

Berries

Berries are considered a superfood because of their richness in minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. These protect brain cells and promote overall health. When doing stressful things like studying for exams or writing a complex essay, munching on berries might actually help keep your brain active. To make it even better, berries contain fiber that is good for digestion.

Sometimes you do your best to keep your mind in top shape but things do not work out ideally. You eat the best foods for brain health, exercise, and pursue hobbies but there are times when your brain does not work at its best. During these off times, you will find it difficult to do the work that needs a lot of mind power. Writing assignments is one of these things. If you are in this situation, you should pay someone to do assignment without a second thought. There are top writers available in Canada who can do your essay, homework, and all other assignments as per your requirements. You get online help from experts all days of the year.

Dark chocolate and cocoa

Flavanols are important for improving blood flow to the brain. This directly helps improve your mood and reduce stress levels. This means you will feel happy while studying and not take any stress even if something creates mental pressure on you. To do this, what better brain food than a bar of dark chocolate?

Nuts

Nuts are a real powerhouse in terms of energy. To make nuts an exciting snack, there are plenty of varieties you can choose from. In a Chinese study of over 9000 elderly people, participants consuming ≥70 g/week of nuts had 17% lower risks of cognitive impairment. This was in comparison to non-consumers or less-than-weekly consumers,

Eggs

As a part of the research, a group of people was given 300/mg per day of egg yolk choline for 12 weeks. The result showed that these people had a significant change in the amount of verbal memory scores in comparison to a placebo group. Choline helps your body to produce acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter important for improved memory and enhanced learning. For an extra study-day boost alongside choline-rich eggs and other brain foods, some students add a research-backed nootropic like Mind Lab Pro to support focus, memory, and mental energy.

Fish

Next on our list of brain healthy foods is fish. Sardines, herring, and salmon (basically dark meat fish) contain DHA and EPA. They have rich concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. As mentioned earlier, n-3 fatty acids are crucial for brain and heart health. Some other fish varieties like mackerel and tuna are also packed with nutrients that help in maintaining optimum brain health.

Red, green, and orange vegetables

Eating fruits and vegetables is a proven way of optimizing your brain health. Pick up veggies that you don’t have to cook and can eat raw. Mix them with some herbs or olive oil or any salad dressing of your choice if you want to. Some of the best options are kale, carrots, beets, tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, etc.

Citrus fruits

Here’s the sweet and tangy thing to make your snacking a yummy affair. Oranges, pummelos, clementines, lemons, etc are citrus fruits that are excellent sources of vitamin C and non-essential bioactive compounds. Citrus fruits act as neuroprotective and collagen-producers to protect your brain cells from damage and keep your brain optimally healthy.

Conclusion

With such great varieties of citrus fruits, pick any that you like to eat or drink juice. You can satisfy your taste buds and at the same time, boost your mental strength. Like any other body part, the brain also needs the best nutrition to work at its best. Constant pressure creates stress and, in such times, the mind tends to give up. This is something that you cannot afford to happen because as a student, you have to prove yourself in different ways. We hope this list of good brain foods will help you. Visit any store and buy the ones you like and keep them handy so that you can have them anytime you want to.
