What you need to put together these Father’s Day gifts for fishermen

This Father’s Day fishing gift basket starts by using a cooler as the basket. Here is everything you’ll need to put this gift basket for fishermen together.

Cooler. For the basket itself, use a cooler that acts as a bonus gift, like this Yeti Roadie 15 Hard Cooler (or any other similarly-sized hard-side cooler). Fill the cooler with shredded paper filler.

Frabill Fishing Net. Add a small fishing net. I found this one at Walmart, but you can also get this similar one on Amazon.

Yeti Rambler. Add an insulated mug in a color to coordinate with the cooler, like this 20 oz. Yeti Rambler. This is great for either coffee or beer, as they maintain temperature for a long time.
Stem Mosquito and Tick Repellent. For long days at the lake, a good insect repellant and sunscreen are always helpful. We love this Stem brand insect repellant. You can get it at Walmart or Amazon.

Safety Vu Outdoors Safety Glasses. Blue lens sunglasses are great fishing gift ideas, as they reflect glare from the water, preventing eye fatigue, and enhance visual clarity. We got this pair at Walmart, but you can also find a similar pair on Amazon here. I hung them from the top of the cooler.

Fill the gift basket for fishermen with bait, sinkers and hooks, and fishing line. Here are the items we chose, some of them in a blue color to coordinate with the other Father’s Day fishing gift ideas in the basket.
Ozark Trail 5-Piece Lure Set. I got this set is from Walmart, but here’s something similar from Amazon.
Yum Dinger Soft Plastic Worm 5”. Get it from Walmart or Amazon.
Zoom Baby Brush Hog 4” Bait. Get it from Walmart or Amazon.

Eagle Claw Sinkers and Hooks. Get it from Walmart or Amazon.
SpiderWire EZ Braid fishing line. Get it from Walmart or Amazon.

Fishing-themed snacks. Snacks are always a good addition to any gift basket. For our Father’s Day fishing gift basket we decided to add some fishing themed snacks, like Goldfish crackers and gummy worms. I also included a package of fish fry to help the fisherman cook up some of his catch.

Multi-tool. A good multi-tool that includes pliers, scissors, and a threading needle is another great gift for fishermen. This one from Amazon includes 17 different tools in one, and came very highly reviewed for fishing.

Fishing license. As a bonus, you can gift (or renew) a fishing license, and print a certificate copy for the basket.

Stylish hat. Add a stylish fishing hat that’s color coordinated with the cooler and tumbler. I found this “I’d Rather Be Fishing” trucker ballcap on Amazon that worked perfectly with the rest of the basket.

Gone Fishing sign. I hung a decorative “Gone Fishing” sign on the front of the basket that can be used as home decor later.

Gift card hanging from a hook. To really take this Father’s Day fishing gift over the top, hang a Bass Pro Shops gift card on a hook from a fishing rod (we got this highly-rated reel to include as a gift) and display it with the completed Father’s Day fishing gift basket.

This thoughtful and useful fishing gift basket will give your fisherman many more memories than a tie!

I hope these gifts for fishermen are inspiring you to treat the fishing dads in your life to a fun basket!
