Lobsterfest is back!  A celebration of lobster is the perfect way for a pair of foodies like the hubs and me to have a night of celebration ourselves.  Last week, we decided to have a date night and raise a glass to toast a big work deal the hubs closed.  Since Red Lobster is having Lobsterfest (the largest variety of lobster dishes they offer all year), we felt this was the perfect way to treat ourselves.

We went to our local Red Lobster in Round Rock, Texas.  Our server, Diego was friendly, and helped make recommendations for us.  He was also very patient with me as I stopped to photograph everything, and was even attentive enough to help me move things out of the way on the table for my pictures.  Read on to see the Lobsterfest selections we tried.

All of the seafood served at Red Lobster is sourced in a manner that is Traceable, Sustainable and Responsible to ensure that a healthy seafood supply exists now and for generations.  When you visit Red Lobster, you can find more information about their sourcing commitments on its lobster tanks and in menus.  If you’d like to know more, see the video embedded below, and visit www.RedLobster.com/SeafoodWithStandards.

We started our meal with a celebratory cocktail for the hubs, the new Lobster Lover’s Punch, which sounded fitting for the occasion.  It’s made with Captain Morgan®, Bacardi® and Malibu® rum, berry and pineapple juice, and served in a 50th Anniversary collectible glass (which is available for purchase as well).  It paired refreshingly with the appetizer we ordered.

Our appetizer course featured the new Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail (chilled split petite Maine lobster tails and jumbo shrimp) and the drool-worthy Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

For our main course, my decision was made as soon as I opened the Lobsterfest menu.  The Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese had me at “truffle,” but the combination with the juicy Maine and langostino lobster made it taste even better than it sounded.

The hubs was sold on the new Dueling Lobster Tails™ entrée (a Maine lobster tail steamed in parchment paper with fresh herbs, tomatoes and lemon with a grilled Maine lobster tail topped with shrimp, bay scallops and roasted bell peppers in a rich sherry lobster cream).  While it was a tight duel, the grilled tail won (the hubs is a sucker for scallops and cream sauce).

The meal was so decadent, and the service so wonderful, that it was the perfect way to celebrate.  And I had just enough mac & cheese leftover to continue the celebration for lunch the next day.

Being a part of this campaign has taught me that lobster fishing isn’t just a job; it’s a way of life, passed through generations in many coastal communities.  Red Lobster proudly supports the men and women in these communities who fish responsibly and sustainably.  Learn more about lobster sustainability from some of the trusted fishermen who’ve provided lobster to Red Lobster for generations in this video:

Now go on and find yourself a reason to celebrate at Lobsterfest!  But hurry, these specials are for a limited time.
