While G is always a trooper and happy to be in front of the camera (look at his blue steel look above!), we didn’t get as lucky with S during this shoot. He had fallen asleep in the car on the way to the shoot location (never a good thing when you have to wake a sleeping bear), and by the time we got there he was NOT having it.
Since we had limited time for our pictures with perfect golden hour light, I was stressed out. S, who is usually a ham in front of the camera and very photogenic, didn’t want to lift his head for the photos, let alone smile. But Jessica used her mama magic and somehow got him to turn his attitude around to capture some great shots… where he even smiled! Not only was I grateful for this, but I was also grateful for Jessica’s patience with my family at a moment when I was stressed and had little patience left myself. She really kept us calm and even-keel so we could get the lovely, natural photos that we got.
We decided to dress in a color palette of pale pink, beige, blues, and grays. The soft colors balanced nicely with the golden hour light, and worked with the contrasting backgrounds of the downtown Austin skyline and the adjacent park’s greenery. My ruffle-shoulder dress is Calvin Klein from Macy’s.
Jessica doesn’t just work wonders with kids… she also captured some great shots of the hubs and me together as a couple. Since he’s usually the one photographing me, I will value having these sweet pics of just the two of us.
I love these natural moments that Jessica captured of our children!
Thank you so much to Jessica for these special memories! She’s definitely a photographer I recommend if you’re looking for one in Austin, TX. Check her out at her website here!
