Now that my boys are 9 and 6, it’s safe to say I’ve learned a few things about baby and kids’ products along this journey around the block a few times. I’ve learned the products that are absolutely essential, and the ones that didn’t come in as handy as I thought when I put them on the ol’ registry (fancy diaper disposal systems, anyone?). So now when one of my friends becomes a mom for the first time, I love giving her a baby shower gift with my practical, tried-and-true favorite products, like Nice ‘n CLEAN Baby Wipes (seriously the BEST wipes). I’m sharing my list of those today, along with a cute way to display them for a shower gift! Bonus – you can get all of these products at your H-E-B!
If you’ve tried Nice ‘n CLEAN wipes, then you already know that they’re awesome. If you’re a new mom or haven’t tried them yet, let me tell you why I love them! First, they are great quality (their plant-based fibers are strong and absorbent, but still soft). They are made with natural ingredients, and contain no dyes, parabens, phthalates, or chlorine. Important for my sensitive-skinned babies is that they are hypoallergenic. But check this one out: their packaging material is purposefully quieter to make nighttime diaper changes easier! Whether you are getting these for a baby shower gift or just for your own use, get to your local HEB to purchase Nice ‘n CLEAN Baby Wipes today!
Baby Shower Gift Idea – Basket of Must-Haves for New Moms
Here are my must-have practical basics for new moms that are perfect for a baby shower gift. One tip to making the gift a little more fabulous without extra time and stress is to look for these items in a coordinating color scheme and place them in a basket that the mom can reuse for organization. I went with a color palette of a teal blue, green, and grey since the mama I’m giving this to doesn’t know the gender of her baby yet, so gender-neutral colors is the way to go. Just like the Nice ‘n CLEAN wipes, all of these products are available for purchase at H-E-B (don’t you just love one-stop shopping?). Here are the components of my new mom must-have gift basket:
Nice ‘n CLEAN Baby Wipes. Click here for details on getting them at H-E-B. They come in different size and packaging options like individual packs (56-64 count), triple pack bundles (168-192 count), and large boxes (336-392 count) so you can really help the mom-to-be in your life stock up! I like the subtle scent of the Green Tea & Cucumber Wipes, but they also have an unscented Sensitive Skin Wipes option. Depending on the size of your basket, you can really fill the basket with these, as they will not go to waste!
Diapers. You can never have enough diapers as a new parent. I would avoid newborn and size 1 diapers since she will get a lot of those. Line the bottom of your basket with larger sizes (2 and up) to get her through the months where she is no longer receiving baby gifts regularly.
Disposable changing pads. I always get these for new moms, as they came in really handy when both of mine were babies! These not only line public restroom changing tables, but you’d be surprised how handy they will come in for diaper changes in places that don’t have a changing table available. They are also great for keeping the linens on your changing table at home clean.
Bath products. I couldn’t seem to get enough soft cloths, towels and rags when mine were little (between all the spit up, teething drool, and other fun), so I like to keep mamas stocked with an extra pack of soft towels or plain cloth diapers (those make the best burp cloths!). It’s also always good to have extra bottles of tear-free baby wash (notice the blue color matches the basket’s color palette), and I couldn’t resist adding some cute color-coordinated squirty bath toys.
Stylish, gender-neutral bibs. Another item you can never have too many of are decent bibs! Find a pack that matches the color scheme of your gift basket, as a few more bibs are always appreciated by new moms.
Teethers and teething spoons. Oh, teething. My boys both loved this teething ring that you could keep in the freezer so the cool texture would soothe their aching gums. These feeding spoons also have some grooves that comfort baby’s gums, which makes the food even more appealing when you are introducing them to solids.
Moms who’ve been there, what were your must-have items when you were a new mommy?
