Trend: Romance
Another trend that’s carried over from last fall and winter is the romance trend. Dark florals, dramatic puffy sleeves, tiers, and ruffles continue to reign.

Trend: Shoes
The most popular toe shape on the runways for the fall 2020 season is square (another 90s throwback). You’ll see it in boots, mules, pumps, and sandals, along with the lace-up and strappy trend for sandals and pumps.

Trend: Flare Crops with Point Toe Booties
Crop pants are flared at the bottom this season, and you’ll see them paired with booties. Here are some similar pieces from SHEIN: Buttoned Fly Ripped Detail Raw Hem Flare Leg Jeans ($10) and Point Toe Crocodile Chunky Boots ($39).
Trend: Comfortable Career Wear
Something not predicted by the runways was that we’d be working mostly virtually from home this season. Fall 2020 career wear has taken on a different style as a result. Business fashion is a lot like the mullet thanks to Zoom… business on top and party on bottom. Business wear for fall 2020 is a combination of comfort and professionalism, often mixing traditional business pieces (like blazers and slacks) with casual pieces (like t-shirts and jeans). Here are a few ways to work this trend.
T-shirts with blazers or slacks

Trend: 70s Vibes
The 90s isn’t the only decade getting a callback for fall 2020; the 70s are also trending. Hippie dresses, scarves used as headbands and ponytail wraps, and billowing blouses that tie at the neck are all having a moment.

Trend: Sheer Layers
Blouses and dresses with sheer layers or sections bring dimension and texture to fashion this season. Whether it’s a completely sheer top to wear over a cami or bralette, a dress with a sheer layer on top of the skirt, or a top with sheer puffy sleeves, this is a trend we’ll see (through) a lot of during the fall.

Trend: Long Cardigans
A great way to start layering up as the weather begins to cool down, while still being comfy enough for wearing around the house is a long, cozy cardigan.

Trend: Fringe Hems and Seams
It wouldn’t be fall fashion if we didn’t talk about sweaters. A detail that sets the fall 2020 season apart for these pieces are fringe details around the seams and hems. Here are some lovely examples of fall 2020 sweaters with fringe detail.

Jewelry and Accessories Trends for Fall 2020
Some accessory trends to watch this season, because even though we’re not going out that much, it’s still fun to add a little (or a lot) of icing.

Layering (necklaces, bracelets, and rings)
Jewelry is getting layered and stacked up this season… and why not? If we’re just hanging around at home or with our socially distant social circle, why not have fun and layer up multiple necklaces, stack rings, and combine different bracelets.
Here are some reasonably priced examples:
