Food ideas for a Monster High themed party

There are so many cute Monster High food ideas inspired by the new movie. Here are a few easy recreations of some Monster High recipes for your Monster High birthday party or Monster High themed party.
Draculaura Birthday Cake

The first thing I thought the Monster High party needed was a Draculaura sweet 1600 cake. You can make or buy any cake, and have it frosted in pink with dark chocolate shavings or black sprinkles to match Draculaura’s signature color scheme. Of course the cake also need a sweet 1600 cake topper. I made this one myself using black glitter cardstock (from this multi-colored pack) using my Cricut. If you want to make the same design, here is the one I made in Cricut Design Space.

Draculaura Party Cake Pops

My favorite of the Monster High party food recipes are these cake pops inspired by a dessert Draculaura served at her party in Monster High 2. See the complete instructions and recipe card below (or click the Jump to Recipe button at the top of this post to go straight to the Monster High recipe).
Monster High Party Creepy Donuts

Another treat inspired by Draculaura’s party are these creepy donuts. Just use store-bought donuts and drizzle them with green slime glaze. You can also add little Halloween-themed sugar and frosting decorations if desired.
Mummy Cheese Ball

Cleo de Nile might bring something like this to a Monster High party. It’s surprisingly easy to make, but looks so cool that it will be a staple not just for a Monster High themed party, but also for Halloween and Summerween parties! To make it, start with a store-bought cheeseball or your favorite cheese ball recipe (here are some delicious options to use as your base: Bacon-Ranch Cheese Ball or Cranberry Cheese Ball). Flatten the ball and place in the center of a serving plate. Use strips of cheese from string cheese sticks to layer over the cheese ball (pressing down slightly so they stick to the surface of the cheese ball) to resemble a mummy. Surround with your favorite dipping crackers or chips.

Monster High recipes: DRaculaura’s Party Cake Pops ingredients

I’ve got the detailed recipe card below, but here is what you’ll need to make these Monster High party cake pops:
- Boxed cake mix (plus eggs, oil, water, and/or any other ingredients required to make the cake). I personally prefer a dark chocolate cake, but you can make this with any flavor you prefer.
- Prepared cake frosting. I went with a dark chocolate fudge frosting, but any flavor that compliments your desired cake choice will work.
- Wax paper
- Cake pop sticks
- Dark chocolate candy melts
- Candy eyeballs
How to make these Monster High themed party cake pops

Bake the sheet cake per package directions and let cool completely. After cooling, crumble into fine crumbs in a large mixing bowl.
Add a few heaping spoonfuls of prepared frosting to the bowl and stir into the cake crumbs. Mix until the cake sticks together (so it can be formed into balls) but without being overly wet, adding more frosting if necessary. You shouldn’t need more than half the can of frosting.
Roll the cake mixture into balls and place on waxed paper. Transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours.
After the balls have chilled, pour candy melts into a mug, filling most of the way, and microwave per package directions to melt them. Allow the melted candy to cool for a few minutes. One by one, dip the tip of a cake pop stick into the melted candy, then insert into a cake ball (about halfway into the ball). Let sit on waxed paper while you repeat with the other cake balls and sticks.

After the candy on the stick has dried, dip each ball, one by one, into the melted candy. Carefully swipe excess candy coating off the balls on the edge of the mug. Place the cake pop onto waxed paper with the stick straight up. While still wet, add candy eyeballs all over the cake pop. Repeat with the remaining cake balls.

Allow to harden and serve, or refrigerate until ready to serve at your Monster High party.
