How to make this plane and helicopter craft with egg cartons

Here are the steps for making these airplane crafts for preschoolers and children with the help of a parent.

- Use scissors to cut the following pieces from an egg carton:
- 3 of the waffle holes that hold the eggs (2 will make up the body of the plane; 1 will make up the body of the helicopter)
- 2 of the triangular separators between the egg holes (1 will be the tail of the helicopter; 1 will be trimmed into a fin-shape for the plane) 2 equally-sized triangles with a folded edge cut from the top of the carton (these will be the plane wings)
- 2 long rectangular strips from the top of the carton (these will be the helicopter propellers)
- Assemble the bodies of the two aircrafts, using hot glue (or a stapler) to secure:

- For the plane, attach 2 egg holes together to create the airplane hull. Insert the wing pieces into the hollow spots on each side. Attach the fin to the center of the back of the plane.

- For the helicopter, flip the egg hole upside down and attach the tail piece to one of the outside corners.

- Paint the aircraft components (pink body with a white nose for the plane; blue body with a white nose for the helicopter; black for the propeller pieces). Let dry.

- Use a brad to attach the two propeller pieces to the top of the helicopter.
