I love to entertain, but to be totally honest, I like for it to be easy. I’m not one to just open up a bag of chips for guests, but I am a busy, working mom, so I usually don’t have all day to prepare party food. This is precisely what Fab Everyday is all about… finding ways to balance the Pinterest lifestyle with real life. Today’s post is meant to inspire you with fabulous party food ideas that are all easy and quick to prepare, are less than four ingredients each, and (wait for it) are all low carb! You’ll want to pin these low carb appetizer ideas for sure! When you are throwing a party and want to impress your guests with low-guilt party apps, you can try making one, two, or all of the healthier party food ideas on this list, with shockingly little effort on your part!

Mini Bacon Cheese Balls

Ingredients:

  • Store-bought prepared cheese ball or cheese spread
  • Bacon bits
  • Chopped chives
  • Pretzel sticks

Directions:

  • Form cheese into 1″ balls, then roll in bacon bits and chives, pressing the toppings lightly into the cheese ball so they stick
  • Insert a pretzel stick into the ball to use as an edible “toothpick” (guests who are completely low carb don’t have to eat the pretzel stick)
  • Display on a platter

Cucumber Smoked Salmon Bites

Ingredients:

  • Cucumber, cut into 1/4″ slices (for an extra decorative touch, peel stripes into the cucumber with a peeler before slicing)
  • Smoked salmon
  • Cream cheese, softened slightly
  • Fresh or dried dill

Directions:

  • Place cucumber circles on a platter
  • Top with a piece of smoked salmon, folded a bit so that it sits nicely atop the cucumber
  • Using a plastic zipper bag with a corner cut off, pipe softened cream cheese on top of the smoked salmon
  • Sprinkle cream cheese with dill

Smoked Sausage Pineapple Bites

Ingredients:

  • Smoked sausage links, cut into 1/2″ slices
  • Pineapple chunks (from a can)
  • Teriyaki sauce

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Using a toothpick, skewer a chunk of pineapple onto the top of a piece of smoked sausage then place on a foil-lined baking sheet
  • Bake in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes, then drizzle them with some teriyaki sauce
  • Bake for 5 more minutes, then serve
  • Note: This recipe contains both fruit (the pineapple) and some sugar (in the teriyaki sauce), so it is lower-carb, but not keto

Caprese Bites

Ingredients:

  • Grape or cherry tomatoes (it is easier to display them if you cut them in half, but you can leave them whole if you like to live dangerously)
  • Fresh basil
  • Mozzarella pearls
  • Balsamic vinegar

Directions:

  • Using a toothpick to secure the stack, layer a cherry tomato (cut side down) with a fresh basil leaf and mozzarella pearl on top
  • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar

Pear Bacon Queso Bites

Ingredients:

  • Queso Fresco cheese, cubed
  • Bacon, cooked and chopped into 1″ pieces
  • Pear, chopped into cubes
  • Honey

Directions:

  • Get the instructions for the Pear Bacon Queso Bites in this post here

Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • Shrimp, deveined
  • Bacon

Directions:

  • Get the instructions for the Air Fryer Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp in this post here
Greek Antipasto Bites

Greek Antipasto Bites

Ingredients:

  • Cherry or grape tomatoes, with one end sliced off to leave a flat end
  • Marinated quartered artichoke hearts
  • Pitted Kalamata olives
  • Feta cheese (from a block), cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Directions:

  • Using a toothpick to secure the stack, layer a tomato (cut side down) with a piece of artichoke on top, followed by an olive, and a cube of feta. See how to make it on Pinterest here.

There is no mention of which kind of cheese you have used..eg-baccon cheese balls..just by mentioning store bought cheese ball doesn’t qualify a complete recipe..there are many varieties of cheese..which one?

I used the Kaukauna brand cheese ball, but this can be made with any ready-made cheese ball from the store or your favorite homemade cheese ball recipe depending on what you have available locally, or your favorite flavors of cheeses.

You can find many simple cheeseball recipes online, but if it helps, you can use the base recipe in either of these cheeseball recipes, as either would be delicious for this appetizer:

Arghhh! I REALLY wanted to make the mini bacon cheese ball appetizers for a party we’re attending. I’ll have to find another one. Have you ever tried to find a cheeseball outside of holiday season?

Yes, I can usually find Kakauna brand cheese balls at Walmart year round! Or, you can try a homemade base. I’ve got a few good ones:
