Our hotel stay was sponsored by Hilton. All opinions are my own. I was not financially compensated for this post.
After having an epic time on our bucket list Midwest baseball #RoadTripOfDreams a few years ago, we decided to do another baseball road trip this summer. For this trip we headed out west for a Southwest baseball road trip to see the Dodgers, Angels, Padres, and Diamondbacks. Last week I shared my tips for visiting Los Angeles for a Dodgers game, and today I’m sharing our guide for a trip to Anaheim to see a Los Angeles Angels game. I’m sharing everything you need to know to plan your own trip, including how to get to Angel Stadium, tips for seeing an Angels game, Angel Stadium concessions recommendations, and my review of the best hotel near Angel Stadium, Hilton Anaheim. Much more on the hotel below, plus all our reviews and recommendations for traveling to Anaheim for an Angels game, but if you’re planning a trip to Anaheim for any reason in the near future, you must check out the hotel’s Experience the Magic offer, which provides guests a 5% discount on Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® tickets when you book with Hilton Anaheim. Here are all our Anaheim tips, and be sure to stay tuned for reviews of each of the stadiums and cities in our Southwest baseball road trip, along with the full road trip itinerary, in the weeks ahead.

Seeing a Los Angeles Angels game at Angel Stadium
While my husband and I had each been to Angel Stadium several times when we lived in California, this was the first experience for our kiddos. We had a great time at the Angels game! Angel Stadium is a very family-friendly environment and a great modern ballpark.
We were lucky enough to attend the Angels game on a promo day! We each received a souvenir a Angels All-Star poster. Click here to see upcoming Los Angeles Angels promotions, Angels giveaways, and special events at Angel Stadium.
One of the best parts of our game experience was getting to see a thrilling homerun by Shohei Ohtani, Grayson’s favorite Angels player. You can see it on my Instagram Story highlight from the trip.

Angel Stadium concessions
One of our favorite things about going to baseball games is the ballpark food! Overall we loved the food at Angel Stadium, and our on-site concessions reporter, Grayson, gave it all a thumbs up (you can see Grayson’s concessions report on my Instagram Story highlight from the trip). The Angel Dog is recommended for classic ballpark fare, and we also highly recommend the Angel Stadium Helmet Nachos, our favorite of the Angel Stadium concessions offerings. They are not only delicious, but huge and filling (great to share) and come in a souvenir helmet. Click here for full details on Angel Stadium concessions, and if you want to try to recreate the nachos at home, they’ve shared a recipe here.
The best hotel near Angel Stadium
Hilton Anaheim (777 W. Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802).
Just two miles from Angel Stadium, the newly-reopened Hilton Anaheim is not only the perfect central location for seeing the game, it is also the perfect place to stay for visiting Disneyland, as it is literally right next to the park. ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) has a stop right outside the hotel to make it even easier to get to and from Hilton Anaheim and your favorite resort hot spots. The central location, spacious hotel, comfortable rooms, great service, and fun pool area make Hilton Anaheim an ideal place to stay no matter what brings you to Anaheim. With only one day in Anaheim to see the game, we didn’t have time to visit the park, but our family will definitely be back to stay at Hilton Anaheim when we have more time to visit Disney. They are currently running an Experience the Magic offer, which provides guests a 5% discount on Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® tickets when you book with Hilton Anaheim.
We were really impressed with the on-site dining at Hilton Anaheim. We received fantastic service at MIX Restaurant (our server, Jesus, was especially awesome!) and the kids loved their Mickey-inspired waffles at breakfast (these waffles are a unique offering not often found outside of Disney parks). Also on-site at Hilton Anaheim is a full-size Starbucks in the hotel lobby, MIX Lounge (a spacious cocktail lounge), and the Pool Bar & Grill in the hotel’s pool area. The Pool Bar & Grill is a great way to stay satiated and hydrated while at the pool, and I recommend trying their yummy plant-based Impossible Burger with warm kettle chips on the side.
Not just Mickey waffles, Hilton Anaheim is also home to an entire store dedicated to officially licensed Disney paraphernalia. You can bet my kiddos spent a lot of time browsing in here!
If you asked our kids, they’d tell you their favorite part of Hilton Anaheim is the pool area! They loved both the pool itself and the pool’s splash zone. They went up and down the water slide more times than I can count! If it wasn’t for the Angels game in the evening, I don’t know if I could have gotten them out of the pool and splash zone.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Hilton Anaheim, and look forward to seeing how this fabulous hotel manages to get even better after their upcoming renovations.
Other things to do in Anaheim
While we didn’t have time to visit Disneyland, we did take some time for lunch, shopping, and people-watching at Downtown Disney since it is so close to Hilton Anaheim. As Star Wars lovers (see our DIY Mandalorian Halloween costumes from last year and our The Force Awakens costumes from a few years ago), we went a little nuts at the Star Wars Trading Post store! #NoRegrets.
We loved our experience at the Los Angeles Angels game and our stay at Hilton Anaheim! Stay tuned for our experience in San Diego for a Padres game next, and the whole Southwest baseball road trip itinerary in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, definitely check out Hilton Anaheim’s Experience the Magic offer for a 5% discount on Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® tickets when you book with the hotel.
