candy melt pretzels for Mardi Gras

I love that these Mardi Gras candy melt pretzels use the Mardi Gras colors of green (representing faith), gold (representing power), and purple (representing justice). They look so pretty together, and since they’re made with candy melts, they are prepared very quickly and easily. You can use these for a kid-friendly Mardi Gras food idea, a Mardi Gras party favor, desserts, goodie bags, and more. Here’s what you’ll need to make these Mardi Gras treats for kids (or anyone who enjoys that sweet/salty combo of chocolate covered pretzels):

Mardi Gras candies: candy melt pretzels

As I’ve said before, using candy melts make these Mardi Gras chocolate covered pretzels unbelievably quick and easy to make, with the results being not only tasty, but also a festive snack for a family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration. Here’s how to make them.

How to make Mardi Gras Candy Melt Pretzels

Start by melting your white candy melts according to package directions (don’t melt the other colors yet or they may cool too much before you need to use them). Dip the pretzels into the melted white candy melts, then shake off the excess.

Lay the coated candy melt pretzels on a piece of wax paper to dry (this should just take a few minutes, but you can place them in the fridge or freezer to expedited the hardening process if you’re in a hurry).

Next, melt the green, yellow, and purple candy melts separately per package directions. When cool enough not to melt the bags (but still wet and pliant), place each color in an individual icing bag (or plastic zipper bag with a small piece of one corner snipped off).

Drizzle each color over the tops of the white candy melt pretzels.

As an option if you’re feeling extra festive, you can sprinkle the tops with green, yellow, purple, or metallic gold sugar sprinkles before the stripe candy melt layer dries.

Just before the stripe layer dries fully, lift each pretzel so they separate from each other, then allow them to finish drying so the candy hardens completely before serving.

You can serve your Mardi Gras candy melt pretzels in a serving bowl or dish, apothecary jars on a buffet of Mardi Gras candies, or even in little favor bags for Mardi Gras treats for kids.
