What you need to make this non-alcoholic paloma recipe
To make this non-alcoholic paloma, you’ll need the following tools and ingredients:
- Shaker
- Muddler
- Highball glass
- Small dish
- Ice
- Jalapeno pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 ounce agave nectar
- 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- Lime wedge, for rimming
- Tajin seasoning, for rimming
- Grapefruit soda,* chilled (for top off) – I personally love Jarrito’s Grapefruit Soda in this paloma mocktail
- Lime wheel, for garnish
*Ingredient Tip: If you can’t find grapefruit soda, you can also make this paloma mocktail with fresh grapefruit juice. Add 1 1/2 ounces of fresh grapefruit juice to the shaker with the other ingredients, increase the agave to 1 1/2 ounces, decrease the lime juice to 1/4 ounce, then top with sparkling mineral water (instead of the soda) at the end.
Want to make a plain paloma mocktail instead of a spicy paloma?
Simply omit the jalapeno and Tajin and you’ve got a standard (non-spicy) paloma mocktail! You can coat the rim with salt if you’d like, but that’s optional.
How to make this non-alcoholic jalapeno paloma (spicy paloma recipe)
Making a spicy paloma mocktail is easier than you might think! First, muddle two slices of jalapeno in a shaker. Add the ice, agave, and lime juice to the shaker and cover. Shake shake shake until the ingredients are well mixed and chilled.
You’ll prepare the glass for the virgin paloma recipe next. Place some Tajin seasoning on a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a highball glass to wet it, then dip the lime juice-coated rim in the Tajin to coat.
And just like that, it’s time to serve your jalapeno paloma mocktail recipe! Fill the glass with ice, then pour the grapefruit mixture from the shaker over the ice. Top off with grapefruit soda.
Garnish with a lime wheel and a few additional jalapeno slices, and you have the perfect non-alcoholic paloma with a kick!
