This post was created as part of a paid partnership with Round Rock Express. The opinions are my own.
There is nothing like a fun family day at the ballpark. My family is lucky to call the AAA affiliate of the World Champion Texas Rangers, the Round Rock Express, our hometown team, so we’ve spent many a game at Dell Diamond making memories over the years. Dell Diamond is located in Round Rock, Texas, just north of Austin, and conveniently located off Highway 79 just east of IH-35. Whether you’re planning your first visit to see a Round Rock Express baseball game or looking for recommendations to make your game experience even better, I’m sharing a guide full of great tips for seeing a Round Rock Express game at Dell Diamond with your family. Keep reading for the can’t miss games in this season’s Round Rock Express schedule, what to know before you go, the best Dell Diamond concessions choices (Round Rock Express food is some of the best around), kid-friendly activities, and more.
Know Before You Go
First thing’s first; to enjoy a Round Rock Express baseball game, you’re going to need tickets. There are no bad seats at Dell Diamond, so grab seats wherever you’d like to see the action. For a cost-effective game experience (or a good option for visiting with little kids), try the General Admission Outfield Lawn seats! Blankets and beach towels are permitted, and you can watch the game from the outfield (and maybe catch a home run ball) while lounging on the lawn and letting the kids roll around on the grass.
Before the game you should receive an email from the Express with the important information you’ll need to know for attending. Some key policies to know for attending an Express game at Dell Diamond:
- Leave the Louis, Gucci, and Diors at home, because Dell Diamond is a Clear Bag Venue.
- Bags that are permitted include:
- Bags that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12″x6″x12″
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
- Small clutch bags or purses that do not exceed 5″x 9″
- Manufactured diaper bags for fans accompanying infants
- Bags carried for medical reasons
- Bags not permitted include: Backpacks (with the exception of diaper bag backpacks), printed-pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, large purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, camera or binocular cases.
- Before you visit, make sure to check the current policy details at the Round Rock Express FAQs.
- Bags that are permitted include:
- Bring your reusable water bottles, souvenir Round Rock Express cups, and be aware of the outside snack limit. The only outside food and/or beverage items allowed are one factory-sealed 16.9 fluid ounce clear bottle of water and one small single-serving packaged snack per person. Water fountains are available throughout Dell Diamond to refill water bottles, if needed.
- No need to hit the ATM before the game, because Dell Diamond is a Cashless Facility.
- Credit cards and gift cards will be accepted for payment at all storefronts, ticket windows, the Railyard Team Store and parking lots.
- Dell Diamond is a non-smoking and non-vaping facility. There is a designated smoking area outside, however.
Parking and Arrival
There is ample parking on-site at Dell Diamond, and it’s an easy park to get in and out of. Here are some important pieces of information, along with my tried-and-true tips.
- Parking is $15 per vehicle for Round Rock Express games and can be paid on-site with a credit card, or purchased in advance.
- I personally like parking in the East Lot, as it’s usually less busy and you can find a spot quicker. I also like entering the stadium from that side (the Right Field Gate), as the lines are slightly less busy than the Home Plate Gate.
- If you’re attending for a giveaway or theme game night, arrive early! Gates open one hour prior to the scheduled game time, but you’ll see people lined up for up to an hour before the gates open on days with coveted giveaways (see more on the giveaways and promos for the season below).
- Have tickets printed from home or digital tickets saved to your mobile devices in advance so you are ready to be scanned at entry and reduce your time in line.

Round Rock Express Food
I love watching baseball, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the food is one of my favorite parts of a ballpark experience. Luckily for us, Dell Diamond concessions are some of the best we’ve had at a minor league park. There are truly options for everyone’s tastes and cravings, from delicious traditional ballpark fare, to Texas favorites, to ethnic cuisine fusions. They also have a great selection of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian options (click here for details). Here are our family’s favorite choices for food at Round Rock Express.
Other Round Rock Express Concessions Tips:
Get your drinks in a refillable souvenir Round Rock Express cup at the beginning of the season and bring it back all season long for discounted refills!
New in 2024: The Express is also offering a souvenir popcorn bucket that fans can bring back for discounted popcorn refills!

Kid-Friendly Activities at the Round Rock Express Baseball Game
There’s nothing more family-friendly than a day at the ballpark, but the exceptionally kid-friendly experience at Dell Diamond for a Round Rock Express baseball game is one of our favorite things about attending a game there. Here are some of the highlights:
- Sign-up for the free Express Kids Club for great benefits, like BOGO and discount ticket offers to select games, special offer at Scoops ice cream, front-of-line access for running the bases after Sunday home games, and more.
- Fun Zone with bounce houses, a train-themed playscape, and a rock-climbing wall. Make sure to complete a waiver when you arrive and get your kid’s hand stamped for re-entry.
- The Express mascot, Spike is also often available for photos and autographs, so be sure to look for him!
