There aren’t many things I love more than a good recipe shortcut. Don’t get me wrong; scratch cooking is awesome when time allows, but I highly value anything that saves me time during busy weekdays. Most of my favorite recipes in my family’s dinner rotation are recipes that are both delicious and quick to make, so I strive to bring you the same with the recipes I share on Fab Everyday. Today’s recipe for Grilled Shrimp Tacos with Tequila Lime Sauce is all that and then some: big flavor, quick to prepare, and easy to make!
My secret? Using delicious Kinder’s® Rubs & Seasonings! Both the seasoning for the shrimp and the flavoring for the sauce are courtesy of Kinder’s, and you’d think they marinated for 20 minutes instead of seconds. Kinder’s rubs and seasonings and BBQ sauces are especially great for their versatility, working with a variety of different proteins and vegetables. They are also made from high-quality, real ingredients, which makes this a shortcut that doesn’t sacrifice any of the dish’s flavor or quality. I’ve got the full easy recipe at the bottom of this post, but first I’ll share some tips and tricks for making these shrimp tacos (and their sauce) to perfection!
Where can I buy Kinder’s rubs and seasonings?
My local Walmart carries a large variety of Kinder’s seasonings, rubs, and sauces. You can find them in-store or through Walmart Online Grocery Pickup. Click the image below to add the products directly to your shopping cart.
How to make Tequila Lime sauce for grilled shrimp tacos
The tequila lime sauce that you will serve with these shrimp tacos could not be quicker or easier to make. In a small bowl mix together sour cream, juice from 1 lime, Kinder’s Tequila Lime Rub (an all-time favorite with a tangy burst of lime and the perfect heat), and Kinder’s Woodfired Garlic Rub (inspired by the rich flavor of garlic smoked over real hardwood).
That’s it. Like I said earlier, 20 Minute Flavors in 20 Seconds!
Set the sauce aside to serve with the tacos.
How to make grilled shrimp tacos
To prepare the shrimp, toss them with 1 teaspoon of Kinder’s The Seafood Blend Rub. The Seafood Blend Rub adds the flavor of garlic, paprika and lemon. It’s truly the only seasoning this shrimp needs before you cook it on the grill, with no marinating time required!
Place the shrimp on a piece of heavy duty aluminum foil on a preheated gas or charcoal grill. When cooking shrimp, you should never leave them unattended, as shrimp cooks incredibly quickly. Cook the shrimp on one side for 3 minutes, then carefully flip them with tongs. Cook on the other side until done (approximately 2-3 more minutes).
To serve the grilled shrimp tacos, divide the shrimp between 8 small white corn tortillas (I like the 5” or 6” size for this recipe).
Top each taco with sliced red cabbage, diced red onion, grated Cotija cheese, and chopped cilantro to taste. To finish them, squeeze lime wedges over the toppings and drizzle generously with the reserved tequila lime sauce
