By the time this post was scheduled (December 1st), I had already received three holiday cards! Y’all are on top of it this year! If you’re looking for a Christmas card display idea, I’m sharing the super easy DIY holiday card display that we’ve done the last couple years. We hang them on the outside of our kitchen pantry door so we can see them every day and add to them as new cards arrive. It’s festive, but really simple. I’ve got the tools needed and the instructions for how to make this Christmas card display idea below.

What you need to make this DIY Christmas card display
- Striped string (I prefer baker’s twine like this gold one or this red one)
- Scissors
- Duct tape
- Mini clothespins (you can spray paint them red, green, and white, or pull the colors you want from a multi-color pack)
How to make an easy hanging Christmas card door display
Cut several pieces of string about a foot longer than the width of the door you’re using for this Christmas card display idea. I use strips of duct tape on the backside of the door to secure the string on each side so you can’t see the tape. I also experiment with different amounts of space between each string, and have some drooping more than others to allow space for different card sizes.
Use mini clothespins to hang your cards from the string. I like to leave several extra clothespins on the strings so they are ready when new cards arrive, then I also keep the container of mini clothespins nearby to add more as needed.
It’s such a nice way to see and appreciate all the holiday cards we receive, and since it’s not permanent, you can easily adjust the spots for cards throughout the month.
When new cards arrive, find a place where they fit and add them to the Christmas card display idea.
Super simple, really quick to set up, and easy to take down after the holidays! I’d love to see your display if you try it! Tag me on social media @fabeveryday to show me how yours turns out.
