- Citrus zester (affiliate link)
- Whisk
- Wok or large nonstick skillet
- 1 pound boneless top sirloin steak, cut into 1/4-inch strips. While you can make this Orange Beef and Broccoli with other cuts of beef, I personally recommend a higher quality meat, like sirloin, for the best taste, texture, and juiciness.
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (sliced diagonally), plus more for garnish
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (Substitution tip: You can omit or reduce this ingredient if you do not want a spicy Orange Beef and Broccoli recipe)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (the juice from about one large naval orange)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

How to make this spicy Orange Beef and Broccoli recipe

Here’s how to make this spicy Orange Beef and Broccoli stir fry in less than 30 minutes! In a mixing bowl, combine steak strips, 1/4 cup of the green onions, minced garlic, crushed red pepper, and salt, tossing well.
In a separate bowl, add orange juice, soy sauce, cornstarch, and orange zest, stirring with a whisk until well mixed.
Heat sesame oil in a wok or large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef mixture and sauté for 2 minutes (you don’t want to overcook the steak, so you’re just getting a nice searing in this step).
Add the juice mixture and broccoli to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens and the broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender.

Serve the Orange Beef and Broccoli over rice and garnish with additional chopped green onions.

We make this every few weeks at least, because it’s so yummy but so quick to make.
