Today is #NationalWaffleDay! There are many delicious and fun ways to enjoy waffles (check out my decorate-your-own waffle bar instructions in this post here), and this holiday is a great excuse to try them. Today I’m sharing one of our long-time family favorite waffle ideas: Cinnamon Roll Waffles! These are essentially cinnamon rolls in a waffle maker, and couldn’t be easier to make. I’ll show you how to make them, whether you’re looking for National Waffle Day recipes or just an out-of-the-box breakfast idea.
How to make cinnamon rolls in a waffle maker
To make cinnamon roll waffles, all you need are canned cinnamon rolls (I like these ones from Pillsbury), a waffle iron (I have the Cuisinart Classic Round – affiliate link), and nonstick cooking spray.
Spray your waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray and place 3-4 cinnamon rolls in the center of the waffle maker. Either quantity will work in a standard-size waffle iron, so it just depends on how you want to split up your can of cinnamon rolls. Close the waffle maker and allow it to cook until the cinnamon rolls are golden.
Remove the cinnamon rolls from the waffle maker and drizzle them with the icing that came in the can of cinnamon rolls. If you prefer a cream cheese icing for your cinnamon rolls, I personally love this icing recipe from Allrecipes.
Get in my belly!
Since the cinnamon roll waffles are 3-4 cinnamon rolls each, you can split them up into sections for the family to share.
