Electric or stovetop pressure cooker. I own the Instant Pot DUO Plus 6-Quart 9-in-1 pot, which works out great for my family of four.
Silicone egg bites mold. The Instant Pot makes amazing breakfasts that are also super convenient for making in advance to save time on busy mornings. Egg bite molds are one of the best accessories for your Instant Pot, and not just for making copycat Starbucks sous-vide egg bites; you can also use them for making muffins and other recipes with individual-size portions.
Optional: Bakeware sling. This is my second favorite Instant Pot accessory, and it gets used almost daily. While your pot likely came with a steamer rack trivet, this sling acts as both a trivet and a convenient way to lower and raise food into and out of the pot.

Are these instant pots magical? My daughter falls in love with the egg bites recipe, she also has the plan to practice all 13 recipes with these molds. Perhaps with these forms, we can create unlimited how many kinds of egg cakes. This is a useful recommendation.

Dear Ramona,
I was wondering IF on the cheesecake layering, if anyone has experience with first putting the batter into the mold, & then the graham crust? (Invert to remove?). I would love to hear from there positive & negative experiences. Thank you for your this page! I just got the egg bite mold in my Christmas stocking.

You’re going to love your egg bite molds, there are so many ways to use them! I have not heard one way or the other on making the cheesecake bites inverted. However, I don’t think it would work as well for two reasons: 1) the cheesecakes rise slightly when they cook, and having the crust on top might result in them being dense (not fluffy). 2) It would be difficult to pack the crusts into the mold on top of the wet cheesecake batter, so you’d end up with a crumbly crust as opposed to a packed, firm crust.
Joyce says
In regard to putting the cheesecake filling in, THEN the crust ingredients: I wanted to try that myself, but had the foresight to do just one of the bites that way, and made the rest the “right” way. I’m glad I did, because while the single cheesecake bite was edible, it didn’t cook quite right, and the filling didn’t rise at all. I like a dense cheesecake, but only when I go to the hours of work of making them in the oven—when it comes to egg bite cheesecakes, I want lighter little bites, so I won’t ever put the ingredients into the molds in reverse again without a recipe calling specifically for that.

can you tell me if i can make hard boiled eggs in my bit molds? ive made the egg bits but would like to know if i can use for hard eggs for like potato salad so i would not have to pill the eggs!
Ramona Cruz-Peters says
I’ve never tried it personally, but I bet you could! Also, in case you haven’t tried making regular hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot, they tend to peel really easy for some reason. I use the 5-5-5 method: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/147563325281308453/

If you’re going to chop up hard boiled eggs… save yourself some hassle!
Place trivet and 1 c. water in IP
Find a Pyrex bowl that fits inside on the trivet
Spray the bowl with nonstick spray
Crack up to 1 dozen eggs into the bowl
Set to Manual/High pressure, 6 min., & seal
QR or NPR
Scoop eggs onto a cutting board and chop
Reuse the Pyrex for storing whatever you’re making 🙂
