Today is #NationalCerealDay, but let’s celebrate it with some delish Cocoa Puffs marshmallow treats instead of just a bowl of cereal! These Cocoa Puffs treats are similar to Rice Krispies treats, but using Cocoa Puffs cereal and some peanut butter to add something special along with the chocolatey flavor. They can be cut into squares or bars any time, but they’d also be great to use for my football Rice Krispie treats recipe for a festive game day snack. What you need to make Cocoa Puffs marshmallow treats

Here are the ingredients needed to make these peanut butter Cocoa Puff bars:
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 (10-ounce) package marshmallows
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 7 cups Cocoa Puffs cereal
How to make Cocoa Puff peanut butter treats

Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper (this will make it easier to remove the Cocoa Puff treats from the pan for cutting them). Coat the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray. To make the Cocoa Puffs marshmallow treats, first melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in melted peanut butter and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well blended.
Place the cereal in a large bowl. Add the marshmallow mixture and stir until the cereal is well coated. Evenly press the Cocoa Puff peanut butter treats mixture into the prepared pan with a greased spatula. Set the pan aside and allow the Cocoa Puffs treats to cool completely.

Once cooled, remove the peanut butter Cocoa Puffs treats (with the parchment paper) from the pan and place on top of a cutting board. Cut them into squares or bars using a knife or pizza cutter. You can also use a cookie cutter if you’d like to cut the Cocoa Puffs peanut butter treats into fun shapes!

These Cocoa Puffs marshmallow treats are SO yummy… maybe even better than the classic Rice Krispie treats. Here’s the Cocoa Puff Treats recipe! Enjoy!
