Easy S’mores Treats Pops

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, then you’ve probably noticed that we love to camp, we love to entertain, and we love easy treat ideas. You’ve also probably noticed I’m a huge fan of Wilton Candy Melts for adding color and festiveness to party and holiday treats. Today I’m sharing an adorable and easy project that combines all of these things: Easy S’mores Treat Pops! With a look and taste reminiscent of campfire s’mores, not only are they adorable, they’re also delicious, and can be made using Wilton products found conveniently in the cake decorating section at your local Walmart store or at Walmart.com (see the links to all the specific products used for this project below). I’ve been using Candy Melts for years because they’re available in colors for any holiday or theme, are quick and easy to work with (they set in just minutes), are beginner-friendly, and are very versatile. They come in handy for so many of your dessert and treat decorating needs, from candy dipped pretzels, molded candies, cake pop coating, colorful drizzling and piping for cookies and brownies, and more. And did I mention Candy Melts also taste great? The light sweetness and balanced texture are great for the camping-themed s’mores pops I’m sharing today. S’mores treats are perfect for a camping or outdoor-themed spring or summer party (for a birthday, a scouting group, etc.), or even just to snack on while enjoying the outdoors with your family. They’re so easy to make thanks to using pre-made marshmallow and rice cereal treats and Candy Melts that you might find yourself whipping them up just because! What You Need to Make S’mores Pops

Since I love my shortcuts, these s’mores treats start with some ready-made products, like pre-made cereal treats and Wilton Candy Melts in two different colors to match the colors of a traditional campfire s’more. Here is what you’ll need to make s’mores pops:

• Prepared or pre-made rice cereal and marshmallow treats
• Wilton Candy Melts in Bright White or White (I used Bright White for the project shown)
• Wilton Candy Melts in Light Cocoa or Dark Cocoa (I used Light Cocoa for the project shown)
• Wilton Treat Pop Sticks
• Crushed graham crackers
• Microwave-safe bowls
• Spoons
• Wax or parchment paper
• Optional: Wilton Candy Melting Pot, Wilton Treat Pop Decorating Stand, Wilton Melt n’ Decorate Bottle Round Tip

How to Make these Easy S’mores Treats

To make s’mores treat pops, start by unwrapping the cereal treats (if using pre-packaged) or cutting prepared cereal treats into rectangles approximately 1.75”x2.75” in size.

Melt the White Candy Melts per package directions either in a microwave-safe bowl or Wilton’s Candy Melting Pot (get tips in this article on How to Melt Candy Melts). Dip one end of a Treat Pop Stick into the melted candy, then insert into one of the short ends of the cereal treat. Set on a piece of wax or parchment paper to dry while you repeat with the remaining treats and sticks.

Dip the treat into the White Candy Melts approximately 3/4 of the way. Use a spoon or Melt n’ Decorate Bottle to make a rounded edge at the bottom so the Candy Melts look like a gooey, melted marshmallow (see an example in the photos). Set on the wax or parchment paper (or a Treat Pop Decorating Stand) and let dry and harden completely.

Next, melt the Cocoa Candy Melts per package directions. Dip the treat into the Cocoa Candy Melts approximately 1/2 of the way so you can still see the White Candy Melts layer underneath. Use a spoon or Melt n’ Decorate Bottle to make a rounded edge at the bottom so the Candy Melts look like melted chocolate (see an example in the photos). Set back on the wax or parchment paper (or back on the Treat Pop Decorating Stand).

While still wet, sprinkle the top with crushed graham cracker. Let the s’mores treats dry and harden completely.

These s’mores pops are so yummy!

You can serve Easy S’mores Treats Pops on a platter or board, or display them upright on a party spread.
