I love easy holiday treats, and as you may have noticed, I love using candy melts as an easy solution. For example, it occurred to me that Marshmallow Peeps could be coated in candy melts to transform into simple chocolate covered Peeps pops! In today’s post, I’m showing how to turn bunny-shaped Peeps into adorable Easter bunny pops with just a few upgrades. Not only are they adorable, they’re really tasty, too!

What you need to make chocolate covered Peeps pops
To make these Peeps pops, you’ll need the following:
- Liquid measuring cup or large mug
- White candy melts
- 6-inch treat sticks
- Bunny-shaped Marshmallow Peeps (any color)
- Wax paper
- Carrot icing decorations
- Black candy melts or cake decorating icing (note: black cake decorating icing does eventually bleed, so if you use that, be sure decorate the Easter bunny pops shortly before serving)
- Pink candy melts, cake decorating icing, cookie icing, or sparkle gel
How to make these Easter Bunny Pops
To make these chocolate covered Peeps pops, start by melting white candy melts according to package directions in a liquid measuring cup or large mug. Using a taller container like this makes it easier to dip the full Peeps pops into the melted candy.
Dip one end of a treat stick (or lollipop stick) into the melted candy melts, then insert it into the bottom of a bunny-shaped Peep. Set the Peeps pops on a piece of wax paper to dry, then place in the refrigerator for a few minutes for the candy to firm up and secure the stick to the marshmallow. I find it helpful to place my wax paper on a small cutting board to transfer it easily to and from the fridge.
Remove the Peeps pops from the fridge. Dip the Peeps in the melted candy melts to coat evenly.
Shake off the excess, and set the Easter bunny pops on wax paper.
While the candy coating is still wet, add a carrot icing decoration on the front of the bunny at a slight angle like it might be holding it (see an example in the photo above). Let the candy coating dry and harden at room temperature, or you can place the chocolate covered Peeps in the refrigerator again to expedite the process.
Using melted black candy melts (in an icing bag) or a tube of cake decorating icing (with a small round tip), pipe two small crescents for the bunny’s eyes. Note: cake decorating icing does eventually bleed, so if you plan to use that, be sure decorate the Easter bunny pops shortly before serving. Using pink candy melts, cake decorating icing, or cookie icing, add a pink dot for the nose and thicker pink lines for the ears.
Let the decorations dry and/or harden completely before serving your Peeps pops.
These Easter Bunny Pops are so festive and fun, yet so easy to make! You can even experiment with different facial expressions, or let the kids join in and decorate their own Peeps pops faces.
