Just in time for Easter, I’m excited to share this adorable Bird Nest Cupcakes project I created for Wilton! As you may have noticed, I’m a big fan of using Candy Melts for easy treats. They’re a great way to add some color or sweetness for holiday and party themes (check out my article on 4 Candy Melt Recipes for Parties for a few examples), so I wanted to find a way to use them to make birds nest cupcakes. The result was easy and adorable Candy Melts nests that not only make great spring-themed cupcake toppers, but they can also be a sweet standalone treat without the cupcakes. You can fill these Easter bird nest cupcakes toppers with a variety of candy or treats, like robin’s egg candies, jellybeans, marshmallow chicks, icing decorations, and more. How to make bird nest cupcakes toppers

Get the instructions for how to make these birds nest cupcakes on the Wilton website here, including a video showing you how to make them. You can use either regular Cocoa or Dark Cocoa Candy Melts, depending on what you prefer.

Not just for bird nest cupcakes, the candy nests can also work as edible standalone treat cups!

While I chose to make my Easter bird nest cupcakes using a looped pattern, you can also try a more natural twig look when piping the candy. I think it comes out pretty cool this way too, as you can see with these test photos.
