Have you ever had a blonde brownie (AKA a “blondie”)? If you are wondering how to make blondie brownies, they are essentially brownies, but without cocoa powder and with more flour. They taste buttery and light, somewhat like chocolate chip cookie dough sans the chocolate chips. I love a good brownie recipe (you must try my classic foolproof brownies recipe or some of my other brownie variations if you haven’t already – see some links to them below), but for Easter brunch this year I decided to try something a little different. I developed a delicious recipe for M&M blonde brownies for the occasion, and I am so happy I did! We can’t get enough of them! This soft and buttery blonde brownies recipe is topped with pastel M&M candies, making them an ideal Easter blondies recipe. Though not just for Easter; these M&M Blondies are delicious any time of year! I’m sharing the full blondie brownies recipe at the end of this post, but first I’ve got a few cooking tips for you. If you’re ready to get cooking, feel free to skip the tips and scroll to the bottom for the recipe. Want more like this? Serve this alongside my Easter Egg Brownies for your holiday feast!

What you need to make M&M Blondies
If you’re wondering how to make blondie brownies, they are simpler than you might think, and you probably have most of the ingredients at home already. See the complete detailed recipe card at the end of this post, but here is what you need to make M and M blondies:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup real butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ white chocolate chips
- ½ cup M&M’s candies (if you’re making Easter blondies, I recommend the Pastel Milk Chocolate M&M’s)
How to make blondie brownies
To make this blonde brownies recipe, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F and lining a 9”x13” baking dish with parchment paper. Spray the parchment with nonstick cooking spray. Note: Parchment paper isn’t necessary, but I do prefer to use it with brownie recipes, as it makes it easier to pull the M&M blondies out of the pan to slice and serve them when they are done.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together. In a separate bowl, mix the butter,* eggs, and vanilla extract.
*Important tip: In order to make this blondie brownies recipe foolproof, it’s important to use real butter, not margarine. I’ve tried it with margarine and it never turns out the right consistency.
Add the wet ingredients to the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until well mixed. Finally, mix in the white chocolate chips. Keep the M&M’s to the side for now.
Spread the M&M blonde brownies batter into the prepared baking dish. Do not add the M&M’s yet! Bake the Easter blondies in the preheated oven until the edges are golden and the center is set (20-25 minutes).
After baking, you’re going to cool your blondies completely on a wire rack before slicing. While the blonde brownies are cooling, lightly press the M&M’s onto the surface of the blondies. This will get them to stick to the top (without getting too melty) as the blondies cool.
Once they are cooled, pull the M&M blondies out of the pan by lifting them out with the parchment paper, and slice them into squares or bars. This blondie brownies recipe comes out so buttery and good!
