I love a good holiday theme and a good grazing board. Similar to the Easter Charcuterie Board that I made last year, this year I wanted to create an Easter egg veggie tray. It was so easy, and I love how this Easter themed veggie tray turned out! If you’re searching for inspiration for Easter veggie trays, Easter veggie platter ideas, or really any veggie tray ideas for Easter, I’m sharing the step-by-step process for how I put together this easy Easter vegetable platter.

- Cherry or grape tomatoes
- Cauliflower florets
- Cucumber, halved and sliced
- Dips (feel free to use different dips if you prefer):
- Ranch dip
- Hummus
- Chives
How to make egg-shaped veggie tray ideas for Easter
Just like how I planned my Easter Charcuterie Board, I started making this Easter egg veggie tray by cutting a piece of parchment paper to the size of my serving tray. With a pencil, I sketched the shape of the Easter egg in the center of the parchment paper as I wanted it to look with the vegetables. This included some zig-zag sections to arrange the veggies in a fun pattern.
After finalizing the design, I flipped the parchment paper over so that the pencil side is down (so it won’t touch your food). You should still be able to see the design through the other side, like in the photo above.
It’s helpful when making Easter veggie trays to shape out the outline of the main design first by surrounding it with the board filler. For my Easter Veggie Tray, I used broccoli as the filler, since the green color resembles grass for the egg to sit in (though you can swap this out to other green vegetables if you prefer something other than broccoli). I spread the broccoli around the egg and empty dip ramekins (so I didn’t have to try and squeeze them in later), reserving some broccoli for later to fill in any gaps or even out this layer as needed.
I always like to start a board’s main design by placing the more solid and taller components first, as it allows something to help you contain any ingredients that tend to roll (such as cherry tomatoes). For this Easter veggie platter, I started with the celery and carrots, since they not only stay put easily, but their shape also allowed me to follow the zig-zag pattern on my design.
Next, I filled in the other stripes (with roll-y ingredients like cherry tomatoes last). I found it helpful to use the rounded ingredients (cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices) on the top and bottom to accentuate the egg’s curves. Once all the sections were filled, I topped off the first layers to match the height of the other ingredients and accentuate the egg shape.
Finally, I added dips to oval-shaped ramekins, then decorated them like Easter eggs with pieces of chives. I filled one with ranch dip and added stripes of snipped chives on top.
The second ramekin I filled with hummus, then sprinkled chopped chives as polka dots. You can feel free to use whatever dips you’d prefer for your Easter themed veggie tray if you don’t want ranch and/or hummus.
I am so happy with these simple veggie tray ideas for Easter! So easy, so functional, and so festive.
