What you need to make perfect peanut butter fudge
You might have all the ingredients for this peanut butter fudge recipe in your pantry already! Here’s what you will need (full recipe card and instructions are also at the end of this post):
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
How to make no-bake peanut butter fudge
The first step is to line an 8″x8″ baking dish with parchment paper. If you don’t have parchment paper, you can always grease the baking dish and make the fudge without it. I like using parchment paper because it makes it easier to remove the fudge from the dish later for slicing.
Start by melting the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat until the butter is completely melted.
After the butter has melted, stir in the brown sugar and milk.
Stir the mixture occasionally until it starts to boil.
When the mixture reaches a rolling boil, set a timer for 2 minutes, and stir frequently as it continues to boil for that time.
After the 2 minutes, remove the pan from heat and stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract.
Continue stirring until the mixture is smooth and the peanut butter is completely blended in.
Place the powdered sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl (or the bowl of a stand mixer). Pour the peanut butter mixture over the powdered sugar and salt and beat until everything is well mixed and smooth.
Pour everything into the prepared baking dish. The mixture will be thick.
Use a spatula to smooth the peanut butter mixture into an even layer in the dish.
Transfer the dish to the fridge to chill until firm (about 1 hour). After it has firmed, lift the parchment paper from the dish to remove the fudge in one big piece. Cut the peanut butter fudge into squares.
This peanut butter fudge is so smooth and yummy!
