Have you gotten onto the Instant Pot bandwagon yet? Even with all the hype I’m still amazed at how versatile these devices are, and I find myself using it all the time. Now that I have a lot of experience making everything from breakfasts to entrees to desserts in mine, I’ve found several accessories that help me get the most out of my Instant Pot. See all my Instant Pot and pressure cooker recipes here, and keep reading to see my favorite, tried-and-true, best Instant Pot accessories.

Pressure Cooker Cookbook for Beginners

New to the Instant Pot? Then my new cookbook is for you! Pressure Cooker Cookbook for Beginners is your guide to everything you need to know about this culinary gadget―and how to make it work for you, along with step-by-step instructions for 75 different delectable recipes to help tackle meals during a busy week. Order Pressure Cooker Cookbook for Beginners on Amazon here.

I own the Instant Pot DUO Plus 6-Quart 9-in-1 pot, which works out great for my family of four. The Amazon links I’m sharing below are accessories that fit into my 6-quart Instant Pot (though many of them will also fit into the 8-quart pot). Whenever you’re buying Instant Pot accessories, make sure that they are compatible with your model and size. For any accessories that go inside the Instant Pot inner pot, make sure you measure the diameter of your inner pot and compare them with the product dimensions to make sure they will fit.

While you may not have a need for all of these, I get a lot of use out of all of them and feel they are the best accessories for the Instant Pot. If you want to see more about these products, check out my YouTube video on must-have accessories for your Instant Pot:

My must-have Instant Pot accessories

The best accessories for your Instant Pot

For convenience (and quick Amazon Prime shipping!), all of these items are available to purchase on Amazon.com. You can shop these must-have Instant Pot accessories individually with the links throughout this post, and you can also shop all the best Instant Pot accessories (along with my other favorite kitchen gadgets) on my Amazon storefront.

The best accessories for your Instant Pot - this 18-piece set has so many helpful pressure cooker tools

18-piece accessory set. If you find that you like a lot of the items I’m sharing today, I recommend looking into a set that includes several of them at a cost-savings. I personally own this 18-piece set which includes small and large steamer baskets, an egg bite mold, a stackable egg steamer rack, a springform pan, and more.

must-have accessories for your Instant Pot: 7-cup glass Pyrex dish for pot in pot recipes

7-cup glass dish. Probably my favorite Instant Pot accessory, this heat-safe glass Pyrex dish is perfect for making pot-in-pot recipes in your pressure cooker. Pot-in-pot recipes cook more gently (so they are great for creamy or cheesy dishes that may otherwise get you a burn error), and they also allow you to cook foods that you don’t want sitting directly in the liquid at the bottom of your pot. Just cook them in a heat-safe bowl that fits inside your inner pot and place that on a trivet in your Instant Pot along with the required amount of liquid for your model.

Pot-in-pot Instant Pot recipes using a glass dish:

  • 5-Ingredient Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Instant Pot Oatmeal
  • Instant Pot Feta, Spinach, and Artichoke Dip
  • Instant Pot Sweet Jalapeno Cornbread
  • Instant Pot Blackberry Crisp
must-have Instant Pot accessories: bakeware sling
bakeware sling for your Instant Pot

Bakeware sling. This is my second favorite Instant Pot accessory, and it gets used almost daily. While your pot likely came with a steamer rack trivet, this sling acts as both a trivet and a convenient way to lower and raise food into and out of the pot. This comes in handy for every pot-in-pot Instant Pot recipe I make.

Extra sealing rings. The sealing ring is one of the most important parts on an Instant Pot or pressure cooker. It is responsible for keeping the lid air-tight, which is what allows your pot to cook under high pressure with trapped steam. If your ring was damaged, your cooking would be impacted, and it could also pose a safety concern. Extra Instant Pot sealing rings are not only great to keep on hand in case your ring gets damaged, but extra rings can also help preserve the flavors of your Instant Pot recipes. Since the ring keeps steam from escaping, it also tends to absorb flavors of food cooked in your Instant Pot. I learned this the first time I cooked curry in mine! I recommend getting a color-coded set so you can use different rings for sweet or light vs. savory or strong dishes.

Instant Pot steamer basket with dividers

Steamer basket with dividers. The Instant Pot comes with a steamer rack trivet, but when you want to make smaller vegetables (such as broccoli or asparagus) it’s helpful to have a steamer basket that your food can’t fall through. I like this one with removable dividers.

The best accessories for your Instant Pot: large steamer basket (perfect for shrimp boils)

Large steamer basket. This one is optional, as you can definitely make-do with a smaller steamer basket for most things. However I personally love having this larger Instant Pot steamer basket because it has a built-in trivet and can accommodate big steamed dishes like the Instant Pot shrimp boil recipe in my new cookbook, 30-Minute Instant Pot Cookbook.

must-have Instant Pot accessory: stackable egg steamer rack

Stackable egg steamer rack. If you haven’t made hardboiled eggs in your Instant Pot yet, you need to ASAP. They are the easiest, most fool-proof hardboiled eggs, and for some Instant Pot magical reason, they are easier to peel than regular hardboiled eggs. If you want to make your eggs in big batches for meal prep, I recommend this double-decker Instant Pot egg steamer. It keeps the eggs from bumping into each other like they would if you set them on your pot’s included steamer rack trivet. Click here to see how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs in the Instant Pot using the 5-5-5 method.

The best accessories for your Instant Pot: silicone egg bite molds

Egg bites mold. Copycat Starbucks sous vide egg bites, anyone? The Instant Pot makes amazing breakfasts that are also super convenient for making in advance to save time on busy mornings. These egg bite molds are one of the best accessories for your Instant Pot, and can also be used to make little muffins or other desserts.

Recipes using Instant Pot egg bite molds:

  • Instant Pot Egg Bite Mold Recipes
  • Bacon and Gruyere Instant Pot Egg Bites
  • Sun-Dried Tomato, Spinach, and Feta Instant Pot Egg Bites
  • Instant Pot Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes
  • Instant Pot Mini Cheesecake Bites
  • Instant Pot Mini Funfetti Cupcakes
  • Instant Pot Bacon Mini Meatloaf recipe
  • Instant Pot Cornbread Muffins
  • Instant Pot Brownie Bites
The best Instant Pot accessories: 6-cup Bundt pan for pot-in-pot recipes

6-cup Bundt pan. If you plan to make desserts or breads in your electric pressure cooker, a Bundt pan works amazingly as a pot-in-pot accessory for the Instant Pot. This one from Nordicware fits perfectly in the 6- or 8-quart Instant Pots.

Instant Pot recipes using a Bundt pan:

  • Instant Pot Lemon Bundt Cake
  • Triple Chocolate Instant Pot Bundt Cake
  • Instant Pot Pumpkin Bundt Cake
  • Pressure Cooker Plum Bundt Cake
must-have Instant Pot accessories: 7 inch springform pan for 6 or 8 quart pressure cookers

7″ springform pan. Another versatile best Instant Pot accessory is a springform pan. The 7″ pan fits in the 6- and 8-quart inner pots and can be used for everything from lasagna to the famously perfect Instant Pot cheesecake recipes. This one is a definite must-have Instant Pot accessory.

7" flan mold - fits inside 6 and 8 quart instant pot

7″ flan mold. Instant Pots make amazing moist desserts like cheesecake and flan. While this one is more of a nice-to-have, I find it convenient if you plan to make flan in your pressure cooker frequently.

Instant Pot recipes using a flan mold:

  • Instant Pot Coconut Flan (Flan de Coco)
The best accessories for your Instant Pot: pinch oven mitts

Silicone pinch oven mitts. If you haven’t noticed, things get HOT while cooking under pressure. These fingertip pinch oven mitts come in very handy for pulling trivets and inner bowls out of my Instant Pot, as well as the inner pot if I need to pull it out to clean it while it’s still warm.

Thank you for your feedback about adding captions to the videos. For these tips on the must-have accessories, all of the information is also contained in the blog article. In all of my Instant Pot recipes I also include detailed written instructions for Instant Pot use, and I also have a cookbook called Pressure Cooker Cookbook for Beginners that has lots of helpful info specifically for new Instant Pot users. Feel free to ask me any questions at any time.
