I used red, white, and blue buttercream frosting for the border of the 4th of July Cookie Cake wedges, but you can use your favorite icing recipe, or pre-made icing (Wilton has lots of options for you).
I used a combination of red, white, and blue Candy Melts (you know I love finding new ideas for using Candy Melts) along with some sprinkles (jimmies and stars) to decorate each wedge with it’s own theme. I piped some red, white, and blue letters spelling “USA” and some swirls for some pieces…
… drizzled some Candy Melts stripes for other pieces…
… made some Candy Melts fireworks with star sprinkles for some pop…
… and red, white, and blue Candy Melts stars to carry on the patriotic theme of this 4th of July Cookie Cake recipe.
The individual wedges make this patriotic cookie cake great for parties and celebrations!
