What you need to make these Hawaiian roll Reuben sliders

Here are the ingredients and tools you’ll need to make Reuben Sliders on Hawaiian rolls:
- 9×13-inch baking dish
- Parchment paper
- Basting brush
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (I prefer to use Hellmann’s/Best Foods or Duke’s for this Reuben Sliders recipe)
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sweet relish
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (this adds sour notes to the dressing to round out all the flavors and cut through the richness of the mayo)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (12-roll) package sweet Hawaiian rolls (King’s Hawaiian is my favorite, but you can use any type of slider roll, or even dinner rolls for this recipe if you don’t want the sweetness)
- 12 slices corned beef (you can also substitute pastrami if you want to make pastrami Reuben sliders)
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup sauerkraut
- 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted (margarine can work as well)
- 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (you can also use caraway seeds instead if you’d like to imitate the flavor of a traditional Reuben on rye bread)

Tips for storing, reheating, freezing, and making Reuben Sliders on Hawaiian rolls ahead of time

Storing Leftover Reuben Sliders
If you have leftover Reuben sliders, you can store them covered in the refrigerator. Allow the sliders to cool completely and then transfer to an airtight container or cover your casserole dish with plastic wrap. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating Baked Reuben Sliders
For larger portions, reheat your Reuben Sliders in the oven, while individual servings can be reheated in the air fryer or microwave. Here’s how:
- Oven: Place your Reuben Sliders in a baking dish and heat at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
- Air fryer: Pop your sliders in the basket of your air fryer set to 360°F for about 5 minutes.
- Microwave: Microwave your sliders on a microwave-safe plate for 2-3 minutes at 50% power for the most even heating.
Freezing Hawaiian Roll Reuben Sliders
This Reuben Sliders recipe freezes and thaws well, making it the perfect addition to your freezer prep collection. Prepare as directed and allow to cool completely. Transfer your sliders to a labeled and dated resealable freezer bag and keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw completely in the refrigerator before reheating using one of the methods above.
How to Make Reuben Sliders Ahead of Time
Reuben Sliders on Hawaiian rolls are great for making ahead of time! Assemble your sliders the night before and pop them in the fridge. When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven while you quickly brush them with butter and top with everything bagel seasoning. Bake and serve.
How to make Reuben Sliders

To make these baked Reuben Sliders, first preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper.

Next, you’ll make a homemade thousand island dressing. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet relish, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper.

Stir well and set aside.

Unwrap your Hawaiian rolls and slice them lengthwise (hamburger-style), separating the top from the bottom. Tip: Use a bread knife or serrated knife to slice through the slider rolls. I’m not saying it can’t work with a regular knife, but I might be saying that I may have squished a lot of slider rolls before investing in a serrated knife. If you use a regular knife, just make sure it’s really sharp and be careful of your fingers. Place the bottom layer into your prepared casserole dish.

Top the bottom half of the rolls with a layer of corned beef. Tip: Instead of spreading the meat across the Hawaiian rolls, pile a slice of corned beef onto each roll. This will make the Hawaiian roll Reuben Sliders easier to cut and serve later.

Next, add a layer of Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and a drizzle of your dressing (drizzling the dressing on top instead of smearing it on the top and bottom bun helps prevent the bread from getting soggy while the Reuben Sliders bake). Save any additional dressing to add more to your sandwiches when serving, if desired.

Place the top of the rolls on and use a basting brush to brush the melted butter on top. Sprinkle the top of the buns evenly with everything bagel seasoning.

Bake the King’s Hawaiian Reuben Sliders in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes or until the tops of the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted. Tip: Check on your sliders about halfway through cooking. If they look like they’re getting a little too brown, pull them out of the oven and tent with foil for the rest of the cooking process. This will keep your cheese melty and gooey, and the bread will be toasted but not burnt.

Serve the Hawaiian roll Reuben sliders warm with additional dressing if desired.

Just look at this melty, meaty goodness!
