I’ve been so excited to share this easy 4th of July cookies recipe that I created for Wilton! These red, white, and blue patriotic decorated cookies are easy to decorate using Wilton’s Cookie Icing bottles (they have an adjustable cap that allows you to switch the stream size between outline, flood, and drawing thicknesses) and a toothpick to create firework bursts. These patriotic cookies are so easy, in fact, that you can get the kids to help create the fireworks so each cookie has a unique look while also creating family baking memories around 4th of July, Memorial Day, or Flag Day. How to make these easy patriotic decorated cookies

Get the Patriotic Firework Cookies recipe on Wilton. These 4th of July sugar cookies start with my go-to cut out sugar cookie recipe from Wilton cut into circles.

The patriotic decorated cookies then use Wilton’s ready-made Cookie Icing Bottles for a simple royal icing design. See the method for the icing in this YouTube video, which is also described in the online recipe on the Wilton site.

You can optionally use red, white, and blue sprinkles to add a festive border around some or all of the 4th of July themed cookies while the icing is still wet.
