Sawyer is obsessed with tigers, so this year he chose a tiger themed birthday party. I was surprised that I didn’t find much inspiration for a specifically tiger themed party online (lots of jungle and animal themes, but not a lot for just tigers), but it led to some creative planning for this cute party theme. These tiger birthday party ideas are super easy and wallet-friendly (including free printables! See the link to the free tiger birthday party printables at the end of this post). With a few easy DIYs and lots of orange, black, and white stripes, anyone can pull off this fun tiger themed party (these ideas are also great for a Daniel Tiger birthday party). Tiger-Themed Birthday Party Décor
The décor for this tiger party consisted of the colors orange, black, and white, along with a stripe motif. You’ll notice we used both orange/black tiger stripes as well as white/black zebra stripes (since the zebra stripes look like a white tiger print).
One of the backdrops for our tiger party food station included stripes of orange and black streamers hanging vertically, surrounded by orange and black pom poms (you can DIY or save the time by purchasing these pre-assembled orange and black poms on Amazon), tiger print balloons, and black and orange balloons. A cool effect for the table was to layer a zebra/black and white striped tablecloth with an orange tablecloth. We used a tiger-striped tablecloth for the gift table.
The backdrop for the tiger party favors station was a super simple setup of gold R-O-A-R Mylar balloon letters as a banner between bunches of tiger striped balloons. See more details on the party favors below.
Tiger-Themed Party Food
The food for our tiger-themed party was some of the easiest I have had for any of the kids’ parties. There were several ready-made striped foods that just needed to be opened and served, and numerous other DIY party treats with orange and black stripes.
Tiger Birthday Party Favors
Mini tiger plushies were an adorable party favor for our tiger-themed party. We gave them out in kraft recycled paper treat bags with tiger print tissue paper. See a link to a free printable of the generic version of the party favor tags at the end of this post.
Activities for a Tiger Themed Birthday Party
Our entertainment and activity for the tiger themed party was an amazingly talented face-painter, Svetlana from Austin Silly Artist, booked through Kazzam Party Rentals by Party City. She did various tiger-themed face art (per Sawyer’s requirement) in all different colors and flourishes for our party guests at a competitive price.
