What you need to make these easy breakfast hand pies for Halloween

- 2 circles of prepared pie crust dough (from a 14.1-ounce package)
- 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
- Scrambled eggs
- Godshall’s Beef Bacon, cooked and chopped. Beef Bacon cooks up crispy like pork bacon, so it’s great for crumbling (while also having more protein and less fat – it really is #SimplyBetterBacon). If you don’t have beef bacon, you can substitute pork bacon in this Halloween bacon recipe.
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- Optional: Salsa for dipping
How to make Jack-O-Lantern Hand Pies

You can watch how these Halloween breakfast hand pies are made in this video on Instagram, but here are some step-by-step photos and instructions. First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the pre-made pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface and roll each into a 13-inch circle.

Using a mug with a 4-inch diameter, cut the dough into 16 circles with a stem (tracing the shape of the mug with a knife, using the mug handle to help you outline the stem), gathering and re-rolling the excess dough as needed until you have 16 pumpkins.

Place 8 of the dough pumpkins on the prepared baking sheet.

Divide shredded cheese evenly onto the centers of the 8 pumpkins on the parchment paper, leaving some room around the edge. Top with scrambled eggs, followed by chopped bacon.

Use a knife to cut out Jack-O-Lantern eyes and a mouth from the 8 remaining dough pumpkins.
Moisten the edges of the pumpkins on the baking sheet with water. Place the Jack-O-Lantern dough pumpkins on top, and carefully lift each to pinch the edges together around the filling.

Crimp the edges with a fork to seal the Jack-O-Lantern Hand Pies.

Whisk egg and water together in a small bowl. Brush the top of the savory breakfast hand pies with the egg mixture.

Bake the Halloween hand pies in the pre-heated oven for 13-17 minutes, or until the breakfast hand pies are golden. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve the savory breakfast hand pies with salsa, if desired.

Here’s the Jack-O-Lantern Breakfast Hand Pies recipe! I hope this makes your Spooky Month meals even more fun! Look for and purchase Godshall’s Beef Bacon in a store near you!
