How to assemble your football charcuterie board
The make this football themed charcuterie board, I started with a football-shaped serving tray (affiliate link), but you can also use a traditional rectangular or round board and just arrange the ingredients into an oval football shape. A fun idea for your football charcuterie board if you’re making it on a round or rectangular board is to add green veggies around the football shape to look like field grass around the ball.
I find it helpful with football charcuterie boards to first arrange the lace and stripe pattern of the football using lighter-colored ingredients (like cheese cubes and mozzarella sticks in my example), then fill in the other components around them.
One of my favorite components for this football charcuterie board is the mini cheese balls with a pretzel stick for easy grabbing (see how to make them in this post – they’re surprisingly easy thanks to my shortcut).
To save space on my wooden board for all the finger foods, I opted to put the various dipping sauces (chosen to complement the football charcuterie components) into separate bowls and ramekins placed around the board.
To add some variance in texture to my football charcuterie board, I folded the pepperoni slices into fourths and the salami slices into rosette clusters.
Don’t forget to include some toothpicks for your guests to easily grab the cheese cubes. I personally love these football toothpicks (affiliate link).
